"If you read my major Detroit News roofing article (Sept. 11, 1999), you know that I am a fan of the newer roofing alternatives. One of them is the cedar-shake-looking aluminum Rustic Shingle by Classic Products, and it has finally made its way to Metro Detroit. It is being installed by American Roofs Inc., (800) 287-0677. The cost is 2½ to three times that of premium organic or fiberglass shingles, but it comes with a 50-year warranty. Realistically, the paint will wear off, but the aluminum should last forever." - 2/10/2001
"Aluminum, the newest metal roofing material, is light weight, very adaptable and gaining popularity. Classic Product’s, (800) 543-8938, offers an aluminum Rustic Shingle that looks like wooden shakes. The lightweight aluminum is put directly over the existing roof. It provides a permanent cedar shake look that will not burn and reflects heat keeping the home cooler in summer." - 9/11/1999
